Company core values: frequently asked questions
What are company core values?
Company core values are the few principles that guide how an organisation makes decisions and how people behave day to day. They only work when they are specific enough to help someone say yes or no to a real choice, and when leaders act on them visibly.
How does CoreValuable help organisations set up core values?
CoreValuable uses the Value BluePrint, a systematic four-phase approach: Value Quest (analysis of the current culture and values), Value Craft (formulating core values that fit the organisation), Value Map (an implementation plan and integration into daily operations) and Value Pulse (ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement).
How long does the Value BluePrint take?
Value Quest takes about 2 weeks, Value Craft 2 to 3 weeks and Value Map 3 business days, so the first three phases add up to roughly five weeks. Value Pulse, the monitoring phase, is ongoing.
How do I find out whether my team is aligned on its values?
Take the free Team Values Assessment: 8 yes/no questions, about 3 minutes. It gives an alignment score, shows where the biggest friction in the team comes from and what to do about it.
Who is the Team Values Assessment for?
It is for leaders of teams with 10 to 200 people, such as scale-up directors, HR or People leads and commercial directors.
Is the Team Values Assessment really free?
Yes. The assessment is free and needs no signup. After the result you can optionally book a free 20-minute session and download the free whitepaper "Setting Up Corporate Core Values", which explains the DURA model.
How do you measure whether core values are working?
Measuring impact is part of the approach. The Value Pulse phase monitors how the core values live in the organisation and feeds continuous improvement, so values stay a working tool instead of a poster on the wall.
